Gale Mattox (I)

Dr. Gale A. Mattox is Professor/former Chair, Political Science Department at the United States Naval Academy (USNA), where she teaches National Security Policy, Comparative European Politics, International Relations, a seminar on alliances, and directs the required Capstone seminar course for seniors. Since 2002 Gale has been an Adjunct Professor at Georgetown University for two graduate courses- one on the Politics of European Security and a second on Europe and Russia. She is a Senior Scholar and Director for the Foreign and Domestic Policies Program, American Institute for Contemporary German Studies, Johns Hopkins University.

Gale has published numerous articles on European and U.S. security issues, Nonproliferation, and Germany as well as and 7 books. She serves on the editorial board of the Naval War College Press, Newport, RI.

Gale is an elected member of the Council on Foreign Relations (NYC), International Institute for Strategic Studies (London), and American Council on Germany. She received her Ph.D.at the University of Virginia and pursued her dissertation research on a Fulbright Dissertation Fellowship.
